HP Names Athens Dealer for New Line of Dye Sublimation Printers
HP has announced that they have developed 3 new printers that have the potential to revolutionize the dye sublimation market. Referred to as Stitch, and thanks to an on-board spectrophotometer, all 3 printers have the ability to create custom profiles in the RIP and in the printer. This bypasses the need to print on paper, pass thru a heat calendar, sublimate onto a polyester fabric and ultimately create a profile from the finished printed product. This not only speeds up the profiling process, but adds color consistency from run to run.
The 64” Stitch 300 is an entry level printer designed for short runs and proto-typing. The Stitch 500 is also 64”, but much faster and more robust. Finally, the Stitch 1000 is a 126” production model, with high speed, quick make-ready and excellent quality. All 3 printers are available through Athens, as well as dye sublimation paper and ink.
